Dan Doghi is currently Senior Advisor on Roma and Sinti Issues, Chief of CPRSI at OSCE, the office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights in Warsaw, Poland.
In 2016, Dan suggested that RomaRising create a Facebook Page and a YouTube channel. We are posting Dan’s portrait and excerpt on the Facebook Page Dan helped us create. Thank you Dan Doghi.
Dan has been a human rights advocate since his work with Romani CRISS in Bucharest in the 1990s. “I became involved in supporting the Roma community’s efforts to obtain the same rights as other Romanian citizens. My father’s example was always before me. His civil rights work was my first inspiration. Meeting leading human rights and Roma rights activist, Nicolae Gheorghe was a turning point. He became my other source of inspiration and motivation.”
